Salvation Army Church holds 78th annual rally

Dampong (Ash), Feb 16, GNA – The Ashanti Central Division of the Salvation Army Church has held its 78th annual rally at Dampong near Asankare in the Asante-Akim South District.

The rally, which was on the theme, “God is Able to Revive”, saw over 200 delegates from various chapters in the region at the four-day event.

Major Samuel Amponsah, Secretary for Business Administration at the headquarters of the church, appealed to Christians in a sermon to uphold the ideals and virtues of Jesus Christ to win souls for the Christian faith.

He said it was incumbent on Christians to spread the gospel of Christ and lead lives worthy of emulation by non-believers. Major Amponsah urged Christians to be law-abiding and partake in all developmental activities in their communities as the nation prepares to celebrate its golden jubilee anniversary.

Dr Lord Justice Gyamfi-Fenteng, District Chief Executive for Asante-Akim South, said much as Christians were committed to religious activities, it was equally important not to shirk their civic responsibilities.
