Saltpond Methodist High School donates to hospital

Saltpond, July 6, GNA – Students of the Saltpond Methodist High School have donated five cartons each of milk and soap to the Saltpond Government Hospital for the upkeep of patients on admission. The students made the presentation after a two-hour clean-up exercise at the hospital as part of activities to mark the launching of the school’s silver Jubilee, to be celebrated next year.

The Headmaster, the Reverend Paa Solomon Grant Essilfie, told the He said it was a policy of the school to encourage students the cultivate the spirit of voluntarism and social service in their communities and to support the needy and vulnerable. The Headmaster said the theme for the celebration was “Methodist High School at 25 – The achievements, challenges Prospects and the role of stakeholders”.

Ms Christine Antoh, Principal Nursing Officer who received the items took the students through the rudiments of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. She advised them to abstain from pre-marital sex and to concentrate on their education.
