Salesman charged with stealing

Accra, July 25, GNA — Gnon Houssou Moussah, a salesman at Forewin Ghana Limited, a trading company, who allegedly stole 130.2 million cedis belonging to his employers, today appeared before a circuit tribunal in Accra.

Moussah pleaded not guilty to stealing and he was granted 100 million cedis bail with one surety to be justified to appear again on July 29. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jessie Nunoo told the tribunal, chaired by Mr Charles Nyewolema, that sometime in May, this year, the management of the company detected a shortage of 43 million cedis in the records of Moussah.

DSP Nunoo said an audit of the accused person’s records revealed that, between December, last year, and May, this year, he made a shortage of 130,208,850 cedis.

According to the prosecutor, a report was made to the police and when he was arrested, he allegedly admitted the offence.
