Akim Oda (E/R), Aug 23, GNA – Prince Aduamah, a salesman of the Akim Oda-based Agro-Chemical Shop was on Tuesday put before the Akim Oda Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing GH¢8,000 being the sales of the chemical.
The accused whose plea was not taken is charged with stealing, contrary to Section 124(1) of Act 29/60 and was admitted to GH¢10,000 bail with two surety to reappear on August 25, 2011.
Aduamah has lodged GH¢2,800 with the Court.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Kwadwo Ahenkorah told the Court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor that Mr Samuel Ahenkorah was a dealer in Agro-Chemical, while the accused was his sales attendant, and that both of them lived in Akim Oda.
Inspector Ahenkorah stated that between January and June this year, the complainant took stock of the goods and detected a shortage of GH¢8,000.
The Prosecutor said the matter was reported to the police who arrested Aduamah and that during interrogation, he admitted using part of the money to rehabilitate his father’s defunct oil mill factory.
According to Inspector Ahenkorah, the rest of the money was used to purchase pieces of furniture, mattress, bed and other items, adding that a cash of GH¢1,900 was retrieved from him.
