Sale of cooked food and bagged iced water banned

Kumasi (Ashanti Region) The sale of cooked food and bagged iced water in the Kumasi Metropolis has been banned with immediate effect. They can only be sold upon certification by the Food & Drugs Board as well as the Ghana Standards Board.

The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council announced the ban on Monday as part of measures to contain the outbreak of cholera in the metropolis which has claimed two lives and left 41 hospitalised at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
