Sakumo Wulomo released on bail

Accra, July 5, GNA – Numo Ogbamey III, the Sakumo Wulomo, who claimed to be the true Chief Priest for the Ga State, was on Wednesday granted Police inquiry bail after he was arrested for attempting to foment trouble at the Ga Traditional Palace. He was arrested during the official presentation ceremony of the new Ga Mantse, Dr Jo Lartey Blankson under the stool name Nii Tackie Tawiah III.

The Police said the Sakumo Wulomo together with some young men had surrounded the Palace to stop the ceremony. There were threats and attempts to vandalize vehicles and attack persons suspected to belong to the Teiko Tsuru We Royal Family, the group that recently announced the installation of a new Ga Mantse. When they saw the GNA vehicle approaching the entrance of the Palace, they rushed to the Reporter and the driver to leave the scene and never come back because they would not be spared the next time. They said it was not the turn of the Teiko Tsuru We to install a King. 5 July 06
