Sakara: I don’t owe anybody an apology

The 2012 flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party, Dr. Abu Sakara says he owes nobody an apology for his performance in the December elections.

A group calling itself the CPP Women is demanding an apology from their flagbearer for what they describe as his abysmal performance in the December elections.

But Dr. Sakara in an interview with XYZ News said the group’s demand is untenable.

“The entire vote of the CPP collapsed and not only the CPP. The entire vote of the smaller parties also collapsed and that is why I said the performance of the election was due to internal and external factors”.

Dr. Sakara added that “the external factors played a bigger role than the internal factors because you have a heated competition between two giants who compressed the political parties”.

Dr. Sakara also denied claims by the group that he was sponsored by another political party to sink the fortunes of the CPP.

“I don’t know how other flagbearers funded their campaign but I put my property up and took a loan for my campaign and the rest I got from friends and relatives”.
