Kumasi, July 18, GNA – The Leadership of the Saint Paul’s Catholic Church at Amakom in Kumasi have attended a one-day Leadership Formation Course to improve on their leadership roles. The over 60 leaders were from Amakom, Ayeduase, Asokwa and Anwomaso stations of the Parish respectively. Among the topics treated were the theological reflections on the role of church leaders, the obligation and rights of the lay members of Christ faithful as well as the status and position of the Parish Priest and his assistance in relation to parish administration. Reverend Father John Opoku, Parish Priest of the church, called on the leaders to make good use of the knowledge they have acquired to enhance the development of the church. He said for the church to develop, there was the need for a closer collaboration between the Priest, the leadership and the congregation as a whole.

Madam Patricia Augustina Boakye, President of the church, on behalf of her colleagues, thanked the Priests for the course which she said had come to sharpen their skills to enable them discharge their duties in the church effectively. The President pledged that the leaders would cooperate and support the Priest to help win more souls to ensure the growth of the church.
