Saint Louis Students donate to orphanage

Denasi (Ash), Dec 28, GNA- Science students of Saint Louis Secondary School in Kumasi on Saturday donated a number of items worth about one million cedis to the ASHAN Development and Orphanage Centre at Denasi in the Afigya-Sekyere district of Ashanti.

The items included two bags of rice, second-hand clothes, confectionaries, plates and cups.

Miss Pauline Addai, who made the donation on behalf of her colleagues, called on students to abstain from drugs and other vices, which could jeopardise their future.

She attributed the increase in examination malpractices partly to students who do not prepare well towards examination.

Miss Addai, therefore, advised students to take their destinies into their own hands by leading upright lives in order to justify the huge investment being made on them by their parents.

Receiving the items, Mr Jim A. Konadu, Executive Director of the centre, expressed gratitude to the students and was hopeful that other students would emulate them. 28 Dec 03
