Saint Lizbert International School scores 100 percent at BECE

Abuakwa (Ash), June 29, GNA – The Saint Lizbert International School at Abuakwa in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District recorded 100 percent passes in the 2005 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Out of 17 candidates presented for the examination, 16 had aggregate six while one had aggregate seven.

Mr Adjei Yeboah, Headmaster of the school, announced this when Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, Atwima-Nwabiagya District Chief Executive paid a familiarization visit to the school at Abuakwa on Wednesday. He said due to the healthy and peaceful co-existence between staff and management, pupils in the school were provided with the best tuition to ensure high academic performance.

Mr Yeboah acknowledged the enormous contributions and co-operation of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) towards enhancing teaching and learning in the school.

Mr Joseph Adjei, proprietor, pledged his continued support and encouragement to the staff to maintain its prestige as one of the leading international schools in the Ashanti Region. In appreciation of the school’s outstanding performance in the BECE and this year’s Independence Day celebration, Mr Ofori-Donkor on behalf of the District Assembly presented 30 bags of cement and one million cedis cash to the school.

The DCE advised the pupils to be respectful, and law-abiding. Mr Ofori-Donkor urged the staff not to rest on their oars but to work hard to chalk more successes.
