SAEMA distributes bulbs to communities

Adakope (W/R), Oct. 9, GNA – The Shama-Ahanta East Metropolitan Asembly (SAEMA) on Tuesday distributed 1,200 free compact fluorescent bulbs to the people of Adakope, Amanful East and their surrounding communities.

In an interview, Mr Philip Kwesi Nkrumah, Shama-Ahanta East Metropolitan Chief Executive, said the bulbs were distributed under the National Efficient Lighting Project aimed at conserving energy. He said a total of 250,000 compact fluorescent bulbs would be distributed to communities in the metropolis in one and half months. Mr Nkrumah said the original bulbs consumed more energy and contributed to high electricity bills. He called for the cooperation of the public to make the project a success. 10 Oct. 07
