Sacred Heart and Partners Embark on Street Kids Home Project in Bolga.

Bolgatanga, Feb. 10, GNA – The Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish in Bolgatang, in conjunction with African Aid, a British Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) have embarked on a 1.2 billion-cedi street children’s home in Bolgatanga.

The Parish Priest of the Church, Reverend Moses Akebule, announced this in Bolgatanga at the weekend.

He said the original street children’s home project, which was initiated by the Charismatic Renewal Group, a wing of the Church, could only house a few children.

He said the charismatic group contacted him for an expansion after identifying that there were many more children on the street, which he obliged and started negotiating with benevolent organizations, which has now yielded fruits.

He said once the project was in connection with children, it was necessary that recreational facilities are included, adding that the Saint John’s Park in Bolgatanga would be developed into a recreational centre for children.
