‘Sack Kojo Bonsu’ billboards spring up in Kumasi

After a series of radio advocacy and street protests to have the mayor of Kumasi, Kojo Bonsu, removed from office failing, some traders and assembly members have adopted the use of billboards to drum home their point.

The billboards, seen at Ahodwo, Airport, and Santasi roundabouts, as well as Adum and Manhyia, bear the image of the mayor with the inscription, ‘Kojo Bonsu Must Go’.

They have sprung up at a time President John Dramani Mahama has just begun the Ashanti leg of his Accounting to the People tour.

Mr Kojo Bonsu has been accused of financial impropriety while others say he has failed as mayor.

However, the office of the metropolitan chief executive has refused to react to the emergence of the billboards.
