S/WIAWSO: PUBLIC WARNS AGAINST LITTERING, ILLEGAL DUMPING OF WASTE

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Environmental Officer, Francis Osoredi has issued a stern warning to residents in sefwi wiawso, the capital of western north region, to stop littering and dumping into drains or face Court action.

According to him, some people have already been charged by the Court for dumping refuse at unauthorized point and the Court would not hesitate to prosecute other individuals accountable for compromising the cleanliness of the environment.

Mr Osoredi gave the warning when he joined National Sanitation Day at Sefwi Wiawso last Saturday.

He urged residents to take responsibility for their waste disposal practice and refrain from polluting drains to avoid being implicated in sanitation related offences.

Mr Osoredi further pledged to ensure that Sefwi Dwinase Market which is under construction if completed will become one of the cleanest market in the region.
