Rural Banks staff reminded of their responsibilities

Awutu Bawjiasi, (C/R) Dec. 26, GNA – The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Awutu Bawjiasi Area Rural Bank, Mr Emmanuel Osei has appealed to rural bank staffs to live up to their responsibilities for accelerated socio-economic development of their communities. He said anything short of this would defeat the purpose for which the rural bank concept was introduced.

Mr Osei was addressing an end-of- year party organised by the Management of the bank for its workers at Bawjiase on Thursday. He advised the workers of the Bank to intensify their activities to promote various micro finance credit schemes initiated jointly by the Bank, the Danish International Development Agency and Plan Ghana to improve economic conditions of women in the area.

Mr Osei said the introduction of the scheme about two years ago, has immensely improved the financial position of women, who have registered to benefit from the scheme.
