Awutu-Beraku (C/R), Aug 19, GNA – The Awutu Magistrate Court presided over by Mr Charles Adjei Wilson, will on August 29, this year, give ruling on a case in which Mr Patrick Bonney, son of the late Opanyin Obiba Kofi Ansah and his siblings are claiming a parcel of land on which the Kasoa lorry park is situated.
The Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly and the Kasoa branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) are joint defendants of the case, which started months ago.
Many witnesses including some Chiefs of Awutu-Ofaakor, custodians of the Kasoa lands, have testified in the case.
The plaintiffs are seeking recovery of possession, general damages for trespassing and perpetual injunction to refrain the defendants from having anything to do with the disputed land.
The defendants also claim that the disputed land was given to them by the Chief of Awutu-Ofaakor, Nai Awushie Tetteh and that they had been in possession of it over the years without hindrance.
Mr John Obeng-Mensah, a Cape Coast legal practitioner and Mr Amo Yartey a Winneba Lawyer are representing the defendants and plaintiffs respectively.
