Royal Bank builds facility for Tema General Hospital

The Royal Bank has built an ultramodern water treatment facility for the Tema General Hospital (TGH) at the cost of GH¢ 62,000.

The facility, which would treat the hard and salty water from the wells on TGH compound, has the capacity to pump 1,000 gallons of clean water an hour.

It is in line with the vision and pleasure of Alhaji Adamu Iddrisu, Founder and Owner of the Bank, to provide potable water to all water poor communities in Ghana.

Dr Kwadwo Koduah Sarpong, Board Chairman of the Bank, asked the Hospital authorities to maintain the facility for it to serve its purpose efficiently.

“Investment without maintenance is no investment at all. It takes little amounts of money to maintain facilities but huge monies to reverse decay.”

Reverend Asoba Kwofie, Chairman of the TRB foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing of the bank, said when the hospital approached the bank for the drilling of a borehole, it was decided that a treatment facility, which was more expensive should be constructed to solve the water problem.

Dr Kwabena Opuku Adusei, Superintendent of TGH, said the Hospital has for many years struggled to access clean water for its operations.

He thanked the Bank for the facility and called for greater collaboration with the Bank for the benefit of all.
