Rotary Club of Northampton Becket donate to Nandom hospital

Nandom (U/W), Sept 15, GNA – Rotary Club of Northampton Becket, United Kingdom, has donated an ambulance, three dialysis machines, surgical equipment, hospital beds and clutches valued at 100,000 pounds sterling to the Nandom Hospital.

The donations were facilitated by Dr Felix Tuopare, a citizen of Nandom working at Northampton Hospital and his colleague Dr Annie Hicks also of the same hospital.

Dr Hicks on behalf of the donors presented the keys of the ambulance and the equipment to Mr Ambrose Dery, the Upper West Regional Minister.

Dr Hicks said the donors would train staff of the hospital on the use of the dialysis machines.

The club is also sponsoring the training of twelve nurses who would be bonded to serve the hospital upon completion and that the hospital is also to benefit from the services of a visiting Dutch urologist. Mr Dery handed over the ambulance and the equipment to the Medical Director of the Nandom Hospital, Dr Alvin Asante-Asamani and warned against using the ambulance for personal services. 15 Sept 06
