Rotary Club of Kumasi assists KUGISS with water

Kumasi, Dec. 1, GNA – The Rotary Club of Kumasi, on Tuesday inaugurated a 25 million cedis hand-dug well fitted with pump for the Kumasi Girls Secondary School (KUGISS).

The project, which was constructed with financial support from the Rotary Club of Langley Park, United Kingdom, will help provide uninterrupted water supply to the school.

Speaking at the ceremony, Rotarian Kofi Addo, President of the Club, said Rotary was a voluntary organization, which was committed to the development and welfare of people all over the world. He said the Rotary Club of Kumasi, had over the years assisted many schools and communities with water and other projects to improve on their living conditions.

The Club had also assisted in the establishment of a Plastic Surgery Centre at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to assist people with deformities.

Rotarian Addo said the water pump would reduce the burden of the students in search for water.

Mrs Margaret Baah, Headmistress of the school thanked the Club and said the well would ensure the continuous flow of water in the school.
