Rotary Club of Ho to buy water filter for deprived communities

Ho, Nov 03, GNA – Some communities in the Volta Region are to benefit from a 6,000-euro and 25,000-dollar grant from the Rotary Club of Ho for projects including the manufacture of water filter for the communities.

In an address at the Presidential Ball and 20th Anniversary Dinner Dance at Ho, Mr Joseph Achana, the Immediate Past President of the club, said the filters would stay permanently at the source of water to purify water that people drink with animals.

“It is sad to see our unfortunate brothers and sisters drinking untreated water from streams, ponds and stagnant water sources while we sit in our homes turning on taps,” he said. Mr Achana said it was a challenge for all to join in the crusade of helping others.

The municipality is also to benefit from a limp fitting center with modern equipment and a center for street children and the aged.
