Rotaract Club of Adenta donates to two Basic Schools

Otinibi, (GAR), May 22, GNA – The Rotaract Club of Adenta on Saturday donated two sets of jerseys, footballs, a trophy and text books worth about 2,000 Ghana Cedis to Otinibi and Amrahia Junior High Schools, at Otinibi near Adenta in the Greater Accra Region. Mr Seyram Agbonyitor, President of the Club who made the donation said the Club has for the past five years been assisting the schools with the provision of educational materials to aid teaching and learning and to encourage the pupils to combine games with their education. He said the Club, with the support of Rotary Club of Accra also provided the Otinibi Junior High School with a modern library to enhance teaching and learning in the community. Mr Agbonyitor said the donation and the provision of the library infrastructure forms part of the efforts by Rotary International to foster community service, high professional and ethical standards, especially among the youth.

He thanked the Rotary Club of Accra-North, Unimax Macmillan Limited and Life Beverages Limited for supporting the Club in its activities. Rotaracts are youth members of Rotary Clubs. Mr Agbonyitor therefore called on corporate bodies, individuals and institutions to take interest in community service as a means of contributing to national development and to support the Rotaract Club to offer its services to the various communities to develop. Miss Ninsaw Grace, Headmistress of the Otinibi Junior High School who received the items on behalf of the schools, thanked the donors for their kind gesture and gave the assurance that the donation would be put to good use. In a football match to commemorate the occasion, Otininbi Junior High School defeated Amrahia Junior High School 2-1. 22 May 10
