Armed robbers opened fire on a taxi cab and a metro mass bus travelling from Sunyani to Kumasi Friday evening, killing one and injuring several others.
The driver of the taxi cab died from gunshot wounds whilst other passengers who sustained severe injuries are on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
A Police Officer who spoke to XYZ News on conditions of anonymity said the Ashanti region Police command has begun investigations into the highway robbery attack.
“The metro mass was coming from Sunyani towards Kumasi and then…As for injuries we cannot count because the passengers on the Metro mass were over 50.
“Two people were rushed to Komfo Anokye but the Driver of the Taxi cab died upon arrival at the hospital”.
