Robbers arrested at Saltpond Ceramics

Saltpond (C/R), Aug. 17, GNA – The Police have arrested three suspected armed robbers, who attacked the Saltpond Ceramics Factoty, in the Central Region Monday.

The three unemployed are Abdul Razak, Labaran Abubakar and Issah Mohammed, all from Mankessim.

Saltpond District Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Frank Wilfred Anning, told the GNA that on August 14, this year, at about 11:30 hours the Saltpond Police had a report that armed robbers had attacked workers of the Company.

He said the Police rushed to the factory and when the suspected robbers saw them took to their heels but three of them were arrested. DSP Anning said when they were searched, underground cables, an axe, cutlasses, knife and hacksaw blades were found on them. He stressed the determination of the Saltpond Police to curb criminal activities in the area. According to him, Razak, Abubakar and Mohammed would be prosecuted after investigations.
