Road Industry in Ghana has bright future – Gidisu

Mr Joe Gidisu has predicted a bright future for the indigenous road construction industry.

“Our local contractors are doing very well and very soon we would not need other people to work on our roads.”

Mr Gidisu made the remark on Friday during inspection rounds on road projects in the Ho Municipal area and the Eastern Corridor road.

He observed that speed and quality of work of the local road contractors were encouraging and urged them to remain focused.

“Many of you are writing your own testimonials and that is good for the industry in the country,” the Minister stated.

He praised First Sky Construction Limited working on Tanyigbe-Tokokoe-Shia-Klave roads, important arteries linking Ho from the east, for quality of work.

Mr Gidisu also commended GS International Developers for having started work on the Eastern Corridor road from the Asikuma-Junction and being two months ahead of schedule.

Mr Henry Ametefe, Deputy Volta Regional Minister expressed joy that work had started on the Eastern Corridor road, urging the contractors to work to specification and time.**
