Road Construction

Kukurantumi (E/R), Oct. 06, GNA – Mr Victor Smith, Ambassador in the Czech Republic and a parliamentary aspirant for the Abuakwa North Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, has broken the ground for work to start on a seven-kilometer road for Kukurantumi.

He was assisted by Daasebre Boamah Darko II, the Kurantumihene,

The construction, which is being handled by Gbewa Grill Engineering and Construction, is estimated to cost GH¢ 1, 860, 000 and is expected to be completed within three months.

Mr Smith said the people needed more development and he would ensure that people of the constituency benefit from more projects.

He said the Abuakwa North constituency had come of age, had outgrown mere talks and vague promises and it needed persons of ability to put things right.

Mr Smith said the road was to help bring development to the people of Abuakwa and that other projects such as building of the Tafo Market would soon be attended to.

“Preparation is underway to put up a Vocational School to help the youth, especially girls, get requisite skills to reduce unemployment in the area and in the country as a whole. I will therefore need your fullest support to make these a realization,” he said.

Daasebre Boamah Darko said the road had been dormant and bushy for more than 30 years and that all means to construct it proved futile.

“We must all showcase unity, love and respect for each other to support this course and when that is done our land would see better development projects,” he said.
