Rioters Granted Bail

Forty-five rioters who allegedly vandalised the Achimota Police Station in a bid to rescue their colleagues from lawful custody have been granted ?10 million bail with one surety each by a Circuit Tribunal in Accra.

The tribunal, chaired by Mrs Elizabeth Anderson Yebuah ordered that the parents of 14 of the accused who are minors, should execute their bail bonds.

It also asked the parents to advise their children against taking the law into their own hands .

Counsel for the accused persons, Mr M.A. Ayaregah, pleaded with the tribunal that he would intervene and advise accused persons from taking any action.
