Ridge hospital records 57 births during holidays

The Ridge Hospital in Accra recorded a total number of 57 births during the holidays, which are Christmas day and Boxing Day, of which 29 were males and 28 females.

On Christmas day the hospital recorded 20 normal deliveries, of which ten were males and ten females.

Ms Susan Asamoah, Principal Nursing Officer in charge of the Ridge Hospital Labour ward, told the Ghana News Agency, that on that same day, there were also ten deliveries through caesarean section, of which five were male and five female.

She said on Boxing Day, December 26th, 2012, there were seventeen normal deliveries, of which seven were male and ten female.

There were also ten births from caesarean section on that day of which seven were male and three female, said Ms Asamoah.
