Rhema Church fetes over 500 in La to mark Easter

Accra, April 5, GNA – Rhema Christian Centre La, a Church with branches in Ghana and abroad, on Easter Monday fetes over 500 less privileged children from several communities in La.

The event dubbed “Rhema Easter Soup Kitchen”, which also attracted some adults, was organised as an outreach programme for children from poor families, who otherwise would not experience the true love that Christ demonstrated on the Cross of Calvary.

Organised by the Virtuous Women, the women wing of the Church, the children were provided with assorted colourful Christian story books and other educational materials along side with the food and drinks. In addition to educating them on the importance of Easter, Rhema Children Service’s teachers led by Ms Sima Ellimas, organized bible quotation recitals, singing, and dancing competitions for them. Winners were presented with prizes.

Every single child and adult that came to the event left the grounds with something, which were made possible by the kind donations of Church members, donors from outside the Church and the T.T Brothers Limited, a food distributor.

There was also some fantastic puppetry to the great admiration of the children who comfortably sat under beautifully designed canopies that were provided.

Pastor Anane Agyekum, Resident of the Church prayed for God’s guidance and protection for the children and asked that they be waxed strong in the spirit and also be filled with Christ’s wisdom.
