Revisiting pre-independence plebiscite is dangerous

Ho, July 09, GNA-Bishop Francis Lodonu, Bishop of the Ho Diocese of the Catholic Church on Saturday cautioned the people of the Volta Region to be wary of campaigns which sought to solicit their support with a view to revisiting the pre-independence plebiscite in the Region. He warned that such adventure would not auger well for the region and its people in view of the fallouts from such campaigns elsewhere in the world.

“Any such step would only bring confusion and suffering unto the people and retard progress,” he predicted.

Bishop Lodonu made these points at the Ordination Service for four priests of the Church in Ho.

He said, rather than looking back at issues of the yester-years, the people should organize and make the best out of their current situation.

” Let us all be honest, hardworking and continue to contribute our quota for our own development and that of generations yet unborn”, the Bishop said.

He advised the newly ordained priests not to think of acquiring property but rely on God who would never abandon them. Bishop Lodonu asked them to be role models to their followers and liberate them from sinfulness.

The newly ordained priests include Reverend Sebastian Ametefe, from Wli Afegame, Reverend Gabriel Akabo, from Anfoega Dzana, Reverend Raphael Akpah, from Agotime Kpetoe and Reverend Moses Apreku, from Kpandu Agudzi.
