Reverend Solomon Kotei, General Overseer of Radiant Light Gospel Mission, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to launch a national programme to educate people to co-exist peacefully as the December 7 general election approaches.
He said there was the need for a common forum for all the political parties to educate their foot soldiers not to do anything that would cast a slur on the country’s democratic dispensation.
Rev. Kotei who made the call in an interview with Ghana News Agency in Accra at the weekend noted that channeling the exuberance of the youth towards national integration would help them avoid acts of violence that could mar the elections.
“Peace is vital before, during and after the elections because after all Ghana is bigger than any individual.
“This is the area where the commitment of peace should begin so that those who would be at the polling stations should be seen embracing each other,” he said.
Rev. Kotei expressed the need for the security agencies to beef up security in all the polling stations, which could be potential flash points on December 7.
