Revenue Mobilisation Efforts At Aowin-Suaman

The Aowin-Suaman District Administration has organised a forum at Enchi in the Western Region to discuss ways of improving revenue collection in the district. The District Chief Executive, Mr.. Solomon Appiah, said he is happy about the low revenue generated by the District Assembly. he blamed this state of affairs on the lackadaisical attitude of revenue collectors and the refusal of the people to honour their tax obligations. Mr.. Appiah urged all stakeholders in the area’s development process to play their part well to help improve living conditions in the district. The Member of Parliament for Aowin-Suaman, Mr.. J. K. Ackah, appealed to institutions and individuals to honour their tax obligations to enable the Assembly to meet its revenue targets for development projects. The District Co-ordinating Director, Mr.. Michael Attaogye, explained the categories of levies collected by the District Assemblies as enshrined in the Local Government Act. He appealed to landlords and landladies to pay their property rates regularly.
