Revealed: How Uni. conversion C’ttee rated Polytechnics

The Ministry of Education has released a list of how the various polytechnics in the country fared in the assessment conducted by the committee that advised government on the migration of polytechnics into technical universities.

The Prof. Adimado-led committee in their work rated the 10 regional polytechnics on their preparedness to handle university programs.

The planned migration of the polytechnics into technical universities has generated some amount of controversy as some students and youth groups in the Central region are accusing the committee of bias.

They claim the Cape Coast Poly should have made the first batch of schools to be converted ahead of the Ho Poly.

The assessment was based on an established 16 point criteria.

Accra Poly – 13

Bolgatanga Poly – 09

Cape Coast Poly – 10

Ho Poly -12

Koforidua Poly – 13

Kumasi Poly – 14

Sunyani Poly – 12

Takoradi Poly – 12

Tamale Poly – 11

Wa Poly – 08
