Rev. Martey must be interrogated over $100,000 bribe – Vitus Azeem

Anti-Corruption campaigner Vitus Azeem, has asked the security agencies to as a matter of urgency invite Rev. Prof. Martey for interrogation.

According to him, the laws of Ghana accuse both the giver and receiver in any bribery deal; particularly as the immediate past Moderator of the Presbyterian Church publicly claims he refused an attempt like that.

His call follows the “bombshell” dropped by Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey’s comments on some NDC MPs who attempted bribing him with $100,000, a house at Trassaco Estate and a car so that he would stop criticizing government.

Speaking with Ofori Ayim on Atinka FM’s political show “Simpieso” Tuesday, Azeem said Prof. Martey should have done the honourable thing by reporting the MPs even though he did not accept their offer.

A crime must always be investigated despite how long it had been there and what is quite disturbing is that the Professor had kept cool until his tenure of office is over before saying it, he said
