Retired diplomat installed Krontihene of Akim Manso

Akim Manso, Oct. 07, GNA – A 61-year-old retired diplomat, Mr George Ofori Koree, was on Thursday installed Krontihene of Akim Manso under the stool name Nana Appiah Dotoh III. He succeeded his uncle, Nana Abotsi II, who abdicated four years ago.

Swearing the oath of allegiance to Obrempong Sintim Poku, III, Akim Mansohene and the people, Nana Dotoh pledged to assist the chiefs and people to improve on living standards of the town. He said an educational endowment fund would be established in the town to assist brilliant but needy students to further their education. Nana Dotoh appealed to the people to bury their differences and rally behind the chiefs to develop the town.

In another development, a faction in the town also paraded one Geaff Koranteng Darko, as the Krontihene under the stool name Nana Kofi Abokyi Kantinka Otafregya III.

However, he could not swear the oath of allegiance to Obrempong Poku who travelled to Akim Oda after the swearing-in of Nana Dotoh.
