Retired Commodore calls for dedication among military personnel

Sekondi, Oct. 29, GNA- Commodore Christian B. Puplampu, Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command (WNC) has said the hallmark of personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) should be dedication, hardwork, honesty, discipline, patience and perseverance.

He said through these dispositions, military personnel could provide effective and “unalloyed” service to protect the people at all times. Commodore Puplampu was speaking at a farewell ceremonial Parade organised by the Army, Navy and the Airforce for him at the Sekondi Naval Base to end his 38 years’ service with the Ghana Army. About 206 men, eight officers and other senior ratings attended the ceremony, which was by the Western Regional Minister, Mr Joseph B. Aidoo and the Deputy, Madam Sophia Horner-Sam.

Members of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and some commanders from the Ghana Army headquarters were present. Commodore Puplampu urged military personnel to be tolerant and make their tenure within the service a success.

He appealed to personnel of the service to support the new Commanding Officer (CO) to make the WNC perform creditably.

He expressed appreciation to the REGSEC, service commanders, officers and other ratings for their support and cordial working relationship. Commodore Puplampu was born on 7th June, 1943, and had his basic military training at the Teshie Military School between 1966 and 1967. He was commissioned into the Ghana Army in June 1969 and has served in many capacities within the service.
