Takoradi, Dec. 3, GNA – Many anxious people are waiting with excitement hours before the commencement of the Presidential Rally of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Takoradi PWD Park.
Streets, electricity poles, cars, lorry stations and other public places had been decorated with flags, posters and banners of the party, while a large numbers of people were drumming and singing in a process through the principal streets.
The venue close to the main Takoradi Market had been decorated with party colours while several supporters had already lined up the streets and grouped at strategic positions to catch a glimpse of President Kufuor’s convoy.
When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the Market Circle, almost all the traders were clad in clothes, T-Shirts, scarves, and other NPP paraphernalia.
Souvenir stands had been mounted all over the city while several youths were selling NPP regalia to anxious supporters of the party. The rally to be addressed by President Kufuor and other party officials was expected to begin late in the afternoon but the supporters had defied the scorching sun waiting.
