Residents of Pinhie contribute to dig borehole

Nkoranza, Aug. 1, GNA – Residents of Pinihe, a farming community in the Nkoranza District, are raising funds to dig two boreholes under the District Assembly’s Community and Water (WATSAN) programme. The men are contributing 15,000 cedis each and women are paying 10,000 cedis each.

Mr Charles Baafour-Amisare, Assembly Member, told the Ghana News Agency that non-resident citizens would also contribute a flat rate of 30,000 cedis each towards the project.

He expressed concern about the water problem facing the people and commended the assembly for supporting the community to obtain potable water.

The Assemblyman appealed to the people to pay their contributions promptly to ensure early completion of the project.

Mr. Baffour-Amisare deplored the negative attitude of some of the people who refused to attend communal labour and advised such people to change to avoid prosecution.
