Residents appeal for road ramps to save lives

Residents of Hansua in the Techiman Municipality have appealed to the Department of Urban Roads to construct speed ramps in the area to save lives.

They pointed out that the current spate of road crashes and pedestrians being knocked down required immediate action.

Mr Zakaria Korsah, Head teacher of Forikrom Saviour Primary School and Spokesperson of the residents made the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Hansua.

He called on the Techiman Municipal Assembly, the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service and the traditional authorities to support their appeal to save people in the area.

Mr Korsah noted that the most affected were the aged and children, and said since January this year, six deaths have been recorded made up of three men and three women by hit-and-run drivers.
