Requiem mass for deceased members of Knights of Saint John

Legon, July 9, GNA – The Knight of Saint John International, Accra, and the Grand Commandary and Ladies Auxiliary, on Friday organized a requiem mass at the Saint Thomas Acquinas Catholic Church at the University of Ghana campus in Legon.

The event formed part of the celebration of their Eighth Biennial Grand Convention in memory of their departed members.

In a homily, The Rev. Father Peter Akabua encouraged Catholics as well as other believers to walk with the Lord with a clean heart and show exemplary lives wherever they may be on this earth so that when the Almighty should call them into eternity they would have a better place to reside with Him.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Colonel William Adjei said every two years the Knight of St. John International and the Ladies Auxiliary organized requiem mass to pray for their departed men and women who left them during the past two years.

Other activities would include joint board meetings and separate meetings. The junior cadets would have a leadership talk while coming Sunday would climax the Convention with a Mass and a parade, after which they would march through the principal streets of the University of Ghana, Legon.
