Relocate conduits of utility companies

Ho, June 30, GNA – Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli, has suggested that conduits of utility companies blocking the entrance of culverts in flood prone areas in the Ho Municipality be relocated to allow for free movement of water through the drains during heavy downpours.

The suggestion was contained in a press statement issued on Thursday and signed by John Kukah, Secretary to the Agbogbomefia. The statement said Togbe Afede’s suggestion was as a result of observation made during the inspection on Sunday June 25 of the damage caused in parts of the municipality by heavy rains on Tuesday June 20. It said the Agbogbomefia in his interaction with the people advised them to desist from throwing garbage into waterways, “Because these bad habits are known to be the causes of such floods”.

The statement said the floods affected areas along the Ahorlor and Alale streams which run through Bankoe near the Agbogbomefia’s Palace and Anlokordzi a suburb of Ho.
