Rehabilitation of Agogo-Nyinasinase-Nkoran road begins

Atwima-Agogo (Ash), Dec. 31 GNA- Rehabilitation works had started on the six-kilometre Atwima-Agogo-Nyinasinase-Nkoran road in the Atwima District abandoned since 1922.

Mr James Adusei-Sarkodie, the out-going Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima-Nwabiagya, who took newsmen round to inspect the project on Thursday noted that it would end a situation where farmers in the area carry their farm produce on foot to Atwima-Agogo and Abuakwa markets. The MP said the government, was also rehabilitating another feeder road linking Nkoran with Nkawie-Panin and that already 10 culverts had been completed at a cost of about 2.3 billion cedis.

Nana Awere Bawuah, Chief of Nyinasinase, said they were happy that work had finally begun on the road after decades of neglect. He said they were grateful to the government for its decision to put the road into good shape and praised Mr Adusei-Sarkodie for his tireless efforts towards the project.
