Rehabilitated Abattoir

‘ Navrongo (UE) Oct. 24 GNA – Mr Mark Wayongo, Upper East Regional Minister at the weekend inaugurated a GH¢32,000 rehabilitated abattoir and a meat shop in the Navrongo market.

Mr Woyongo said prior to the rehabilitation of the abattoir, the butchers sold their meat in the open market under exposed conditions, which was unhygienic and risk for human consumption.

He said the rehabilitated abattoir would enable the butchers to sell wholesome meat and under hygienic conditions.

Mr Woyongo advised them to endeavour to handle their products with cleanliness and ensure that the environment around their shops and the abattoir are also tidy.

He also asked the contractor to provide a source of water for the abattoir to enable the butchers to clean their meat and the environment. ‘
