Rehabilitate the 20-kilometre Mpasaso-Wioso road

Mpasaso (Ash), May 20, GNA – The chiefs and people of Mpasaso, a predominantly food crop and cocoa farming community in the Ahafo-Ano South District, have appealed to the government to help put into good shape the 20-kilometre road leading to the town from Wioso.

Mr Seth Adu Asabere, the assembly member, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the road was in such bad condition that drivers were refusing to ply it.

“We are gradually being cut off from the rest of the district and this should not be allowed to happen. Any little amount of rainfall makes the road impassable and drivers who attempt using it get stuck.” Mr Asabere said the people were finding it increasingly difficult to transport their farm products to the marketing centres and with the rains setting in the situation is getting worse.

”We are getting disillusioned as we are yet to see anything come out of the several promises in the past by government officials that the road had been awarded on contract.”
