Regulate cyber cafes – Child Rights NGO

A Civil Society Group, J-initiative wants activities of cyber cafes in the country regulated.

The group believes the proliferation of these centers have exposed children to explicit materials and leads them into social vices.

The World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, is being commemorated on Friday May 16.

The day is being commemorated to highlight the issues of pornography and violent movies that children are exposed to, create awareness and eradicate them.

But the Executive Director of the group Awo Idan Amenya tells XYZ NEWS the commemoration can only become relevant when government implements concrete measures to protect children from exploitation and cyber abuse.
