REGSEC warns Frafra and Yoruba communities during Eid-ul-fitr

Kumasi, Sept. 8, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) on Wednesday said it would deal ruthlessly with anybody who holds himself as chief in the Frafra and Yoruba communities in the Kumasi metropolis especially during the Eid-ul-fitr festival.

It said nobody had the right to hold himself as chief in these communities until the Nsumankwaahene, who has been mandated by the Asantehene, to find rightful persons to occupy the positions, completes his work and conclude arrangements for the enskinment of such persons.

A statement signed by Mr S.O Kusi-Appiah, Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Director and Secretary to the Council, said the move was to ensure a peaceful and incident free celebration of the Eid-ul-fitr on Friday, September 10.

It said the security agencies had been ordered to deal ruthlessly with any trouble maker during the congregational prayers on Friday and advised all those concerned to adhere to the directives and comply accordingly.
