Sunyani, Feb. 12, GNA -Chief Superintendent of Police Reverend J. K. Abayie, Regional Chaplain of the Ghana Police Service has urged the police to always rely on God for strength to discharge their duties creditably.
Nobody can achieve success in life without God, he said and emphasized that if the police could render better services, they needed the Hand of God to be able to perform with courage.
Rev. Abayie was delivering a sermom during a thanksgiving service at the Regional Police Church in Sunyani at the weekend to thank the Lord for the promotion of Deputy Commissioner of Police Kwaku Ayensu Opare Addo, Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander. The Regional Chaplain advised police personnel to further their education to acquire more skills and knowledge and not to be complacent with their present educational standards.
CSP Abayie asked them to take cue from exploits of DCP Opare Addo, who resigned from the Service to enter the University of Cape Coast, graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree and re-joined the service. In a brief biography of the Regional Commander, Rev. Abayie said DCP Opare Addo was born in 1952 at Akwapem Adukrom in the Eastern Region and completed his elementary education on 1967.
He joined the Police Service as an escort police and was attached to the Striking Force but determined to achieve higher laurels, the regional commander resigned and pursued higher education at the Presbyterian Training College at Aburi and the University of Cape Coast. Among those Present at the ceremony were Mr. Kwame Twumasi Awuah, Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, friends and family members.
