Regional Minister Visits Family Of Late Afua Nyantakyiwaa

The Eastern Regional Minister, Miss Patience Adow has visited the family of the Afua Nyantakyiwaa, who was killed by a falling tree during communal labour at Kwahu Tafo. The visit was to enable her to express the government’s condolences to the bereaved family. The Minister also visited 14 other people who sustained various degree of injuries during the incident. Twelve of those injured have been discharged from the Atibie Government Hospital while two others are still on admission. The eight month old daughter of the late Afuaa Nyantakyiwaa, Afua Benewaah was however sent to the St. Joseph Hospital in Koforidua where her right leg was amputated. Miss Patience Adow later visited the baby and donated a quantity of provisions and a cash of ?50,000.00 towards her upkeep. The orthopaedic specialist in charge of the hospital, Dr.. Juan Cassale told the Minister that the baby is responding to treatment, The incident occurred early this month when the residents of Kwahu Tafo were undertaking communal labour to build a transit quarters for the town. gri
