Awiebo (W/R), Dec 22, GNA- Mr Joseph B. Aidoo, Western Regional Minister presented a cheque for five million cedis to the chiefs and people of Awiebo in the Nzema East District of the Western Region for the community water project estimated at 50 million cedis. He noted that, efforts by the people to provide potable water was to complement the Government’s programme to improve the lives of the people.
Mr Aidoo therefore appealed to non-resident citizens of the area to support development programmes at home by donating generously towards development programmes.
Receiving the cheque, Mr Samuel K. Ansah, a member of the Water and Sanitation Committee of the town thanked the Regional Minister for the donation.
He said the community had raised 15 million Cedis towards the project.
