Regional Minister commissions Assembly Hall

New Edubiase (Ash), March 5, GNA- Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, the Ashanti Regional Minister on Thursday commissioned a 900 million cedis assembly hall for the Adansi East District Assembly at New Edubiase in Ashanti.

The hall, which has 10 offices, was funded with district assemblies common fund.

Mr Boafo stressed the need for peace and appealed to the people to ensure that peace and unity prevailed in the area. The Regional Minister expressed concern about the environment and urged the assembly members to help check its destruction. “Take a serious view of the byelaws on bush fires”, he told the assembly members.

Mr Boafo commended the assembly for its efforts to improve education and appealed to parents to invest in the schooling of their wards.

“You will not regret if you sell your wealth and use it to invest in the education of your wards”, the Regional Minister said.0 He said the roads in the New Edubiase would soon be tarred, and added that a new road from Nsuta-Subriso is being constructed to link the village with Tweapease whilst Afia Bridge spanning River Subri is also under construction.

“The government has good intentions for the Adansi East district”, Mr Boafo stressed.

Mr Dominic A.K. Yeboah, the District Chief Executive, announced that the assembly is undertaking a number of projects including a guesthouse and semi-detached houses for workers. Nana Kwaku Amoah, the presiding member of the assembly, asked the assembly members to work hard to ensure the success of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in the district.
