Regional Minister Commends Airborne Force Command

Bolgatanga, Sept. 20 GNA – The Upper East Regional Minister, Mr Mark Woyongo, has commended the Airborne Force Command for their contribution in maintaining peace in Bawku.

In a statement signed by the Regional Coordinating Council Public Relations Officer, Mr Abdul-Khassim Medjida, the Minister said the Command had contributed immensely to relative peace in the area and appealed to them to continue their good works.

He made these comments during the visit of the newly appointed Commander of the Northern Military Command, Brigadier General R K Opoku Aduse, who called on him as part of his familiarisation tour to the Region.

Mr Woyongo said all efforts were being made to bring the Mamprusis back into the Inter-Ethnic Peace Committee to continue with the peace initiative process.

Brigadier General Aduse assured the Minister that his outfit would continue to provide the necessary support in the area and asked for the cooperation from all.
